What Level Of Intimacy Should There Be Before Marriage?
Is It Really That Bad For Christians to Have Sex Before Marriage? — Tom Talks
In the Bible, sex before marriage is considered immoral. How could having sex, something that all married couples do regularly, be unclean and immoral before two people are married? If something is a good thing to do, such as telling the truth, it should be good for everyone, everywhere to do it. And if something is wrong, such as striking another person in anger and causing them bodily harm, then it should be wrong for everyone, in every context. We usually allow and encourage such a person to stay home or wear a wig until their hair has grown back. We protect their dignity and preserve a proper sense of who they are by not making them engage others when most of their hair has visibly fallen out. There are two other important biblical terms for us to appreciate.
D oes the Bible limit the amount and kind of intimacy that men and women should have before marriage? If so, what are these limits? The author or authors of Hebrews tells us that marriage is an honorable institution and one that was created by God Gen A man was told to leave his family and cleave to his wife…to leave and to cleave. The two become one and are as one flesh.
Answer: Sex before marriage is usually discussed along with other forms of adultery in the Bible. Jesus gave us the clearest spiritual, as well as physical, application of God's Commandment to refrain from participating in sex with another person outside of marriage when he stated we are not even to lust after another person in our hearts. Doing so, according to Christ, is the same as adultery Matthew
