Peter Park, Artistic Director

Park Peter webPeter Park, founding conductor and artistic director of Dolce Canto, is an active choral conductor, clinician, and adjudicator. Peter has been invited to conduct the Wyoming All-State Choir, Alaska Region II Honor Choir, Big Horn Basin District Honor Choir, and Montana Youth Sing 7/8 Honor Choir, and has presented guest lectures on choral music in South Korea at Ewha Womans University (Seoul) and Keimyung University (Daegu). As a chorister, Peter was selected to perform with the critically acclaimed Carnegie Hall Workshop Chorus under conductors James Conlon, Sir Neville Marriner, Peter Schreier, and Robert Shaw. Peter received his B.M. in Music Education from The University of Montana.

Peter firmly believes in music’s profound ability to connect people and strengthen communities. Renowned for his innovative programming, Peter is passionate about discovering, learning and sharing incredible works of choral music. Above all, he cherishes the opportunity to collaborate with the dedicated and talented musicians who comprise Dolce Canto.

In addition to making music locally, Peter enjoys traveling abroad. His experience living in Vienna, Austria while studying at The University of Montana, as well as serving as Executive Director of Missoula’s International Choral Festival (2001–2006), deeply instilled in him the value of engaging in cultural exchange. As Director of Professional Activities for The College Music Society, Peter finds ongoing opportunities to interact with, and learn from, outstanding professional, amateur and folk musicians throughout the world.
