Dolce Canto AUDITIONS

Experienced singers of all voice types are welcomed and encouraged to submit an audition. Auditions may be submitted at any time; however, the optimal timeframe to apply for the 2017–18 season is between April and July of 2017. All open choir positions are expected to be filled by mid-August, 2017. Bass voices are especially encouraged.

All auditions will be reviewed by the artistic staff. Depending on available positions, singers may be called back for a follow-up appointment with the artistic director. All auditionees may expect to receive a response.

Audionees should carefully consider the following prior to auditioning:

  • Sight-reading proficiency, excellent listening skills & previous choral experience are required.
  • Singers who are able to keep vibrato under control at all volume levels are of greatest appeal.
  • While a volunteer chorus, members of Dolce Canto are held to professional standards. Singers invited to sing with the choir will be expected to devote sufficient time outside of group rehearsals to thoroughly prepare for concerts and rehearsals.
  • Selected singers are expected to attend all rehearsals & performances for the entire season (typically late August through late April).
  • Dues are required for participation.
